Really enjoyed the main narrative being told via a chorus of friends, felt like a fair and true depiction of girlhood summers, and then the present day individual stories/lingering traumas. Quite a dark book but really enjoyed the writing.

Really creative bifurcation of the groupthink of adolescent cliques into adult individuality. They thought they were the same but as they grew up, they were quite different. I should know what happened but some critical points are too abstract or vague for me. :'(

For most of the time when I was reading this book, I really thought it was a weird and unique tale about girlhood — which to be fair, I do think it still is about that and it has a very surreal and intriguing way that this is depicted. But then I got 80% through it and it really clicked with me that this book was about something completely different. Really thoroughly enjoyed overall and would highly recommend!!
