HOLY SH*T. This may be the spiciest book Kandi Steiner has written thus far. Kandi ain't playing around!!!

Clay Thompson is a star athlete. When Clay's high school sweetheart breaks his heart, he begins to fall apart.

Only, that can't happen. At least not in front of the camera.

Giana is the team's PR coordinator, and she's responsible for making sure the players are camera ready. When Giana's boss orders her to fix this mess, she's left finding a way to get Clay under control on her own. Too bad (or not..) Clay has some ideas of his own. Clay proposes they fake date. Giana will finally get the guy she has a crush on to notice her, and Clay will get his high school sweetheart back.

What's the worst that could happen?

As soon as I read the blurb for this book, I knew it would be delicious. I'm biased because I'm obsessed, but I love the way Kandi Steiner writes. Kandi always gives her characters depth and makes them multi-dimensional, which is an aspect I love that keeps drawing me back to her books. Giana and Clay were equally lovable characters. I love that although Giana was the quiet bookworm type, she was beautiful and unique in her own right. Clay saw her even from the beginning as special, which is swoon-worthy in itself. I was so happy to get snippets of Riley and Zeke. I fell hard for those two, and it was so lovely to be reminded of them. Giana and Clay, though? definitely made my list of favorite couples. They were just so on point and so in sync. I actually didn't mind the 3rd act drama. It showed how strong their connection is and exactly why they are meant to be. These two had fantastic chemistry; I couldn't help but fall in love with them.

Thank you, Valentine PR and Kandi Steiner, for this ARC

4.5 ~ this was so cute and cliché in the absolute best way possible. it’s exactly what you expect a fake dating sports romance to be, but there were so many parts that i giggled and swooned over that i couldn’t help but adore it. the boy obsessed trope was clearly present in this one (when clay gave gianna that book >>>) the only thing i wasn’t a complete fan of was the random third act conflict right when they were finally happy (i get that it was necessary for the plot but i just wasn’t a fan…)

“I love your smutty books, and your weird documentaries, and your obsession with orange, processed snacks.”

where can i get me a clay?? i’m asking for a friend

also taylor wrote “how you get the girl” about claygianna sorry i don’t make the rules

This was such a fun fake dating romance!! I loved Giana and Clay together so much! This book was so adorable. It had romance, some tough topics, humor, and football! I loved it!
