informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

4.5

This book is impeccably crafted. I loved the up-close storytelling of the Apollo 11 mission interspersed with the history of space exploration. Fetter-Vorm expertly condenses the long history of spaceflight, beginning with the dreams and hopes of such an endeavor long before it ever became possible. I especially loved the attention to detail, the inclusion of women and people of color whose impact is so often left out, and the historical, political and cultural context that Fetter-Vorm strove to include in every chapter.

This graphic novel packs so much into it. The art is clean and crisp, and the use of color to differentiate history chapters with the Apollo 11 chapters is a nice touch. If you have any interest in space or just love nonfiction graphic novels like I do, definitely check this book out.
