Only picked it up cause of the Critical Role comic, which was very very adorable. Loved seeing more of Luc and Marion.

2.5 stars for the vox machina story: brief and colurful but not really enough to grab onto. to contrast even though just as brief The prologue to the norse mythology is easily 4.5 starts. Lovely panels accentuate the words that is parse , just like the myths.

The Critical Role story was cute, but was, as with the Avatar FCBD title, all fantasy: not my usual jam and while I will read fantasy, it really needs to suck me in. This, unfortunately didn't, as much as I've liked Jody Hauser's work in the past.

I really wanted to read the Witcher story and this would have rated lower if not for that: I got into the series on Netflix and while this felt different, it was enough to keep me hooked. The story line is pretty brutal in an unexpected way, but that falls in line with the show, where choices have severe real life consequences due to human foibles.
