Very inspirational, touching stories this time focusing on achievements of immigrant women across the globe.
Empowering and heart-warming and not to be missed read.

Thanks to Rebel Girls for the DRC!

"No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid." - Lupita Amondi Nyong'o

I'm a big fan of the Rebel Girls books. I think this one just became my new favorite. Each page tells us a short story about a different woman who changed the world somehow. They tell us the country she was born, where she moved to and for what reason. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful.

These women, from all over the world, show us how important it is to believe in your dreams, in yourself, and never let the obstacles on your way stop you. We should never limit ourselves with just one culture. There’s so much we can learn from each other. They worked hard to help and inspire others. At times, they even had to fight alone, because no one else believed in them. But they did extraordinary things, that we're forever thankful for.

This book is intended for children, but I recommend it to everyone.
I also love how the last pages are blank, so the reader can complete it with your own story and portrait. This can be such a meaningful gift to someone. I love it.

A nice variety of ‘rebel’ girls. Some I knew about, some I’d heard of but was unfamiliar with, and some I was - sadly - ignorant of. Obviously, in order to cover 100 women, this means each entry is quite sparse, but enough to get you interested in looking up more about them. They are ordered alphabetically, by first name. A lovely book for the end of the year. Inspirational.

I have loved Rebel Girls since their beginning! I supported their first book on Kickstarter and was so thrilled when it finally arrived. These books are so expertly written, each vignette packed with information in a completely relatable and bite size way. Even my 2 and 3 year old nephews can sit through a couple. And the illustrations are so full of life and adventure! These are some of my most favorite books! I have learned so much from them!

Fantastic read. I especially loved how there was a quote listed for each woman and that most bios started with a description of what that woman was like as a young girl. A few of these stories are more suitable for a middle school girl. Make sure to screen each story to be sure your child is ready to discuss hard topics such as war, death, injustice, or abuse.

Another new set of inspirational bed time stories, this time featuring girls and women who have left their birth countries, for a variety of reasons.
Personally, I preferred the stories about the unknown women rather than the famous women - it was interesting to read more down to earth stories, which felt achievable, as well as the super world-changing stories. I liked that there were recent stories, as well as historical stories, and across a broad range of areas from food and activism, to maths and ornithology.
There are glorious, colourful illustrations throughout, by numerous artists.
The stories are all short, so easily read as a quick bedtime story, or to get reluctant readers engaged in giving it a go themselves.

As an immigrant myself, I really like the idea of this book! So many inspirational women. However, I do feel there is not enough representation of other nationals. I hope there are more books like this one in the future to come so it can cover that gap.

These are so beautiful! There was such a lovely mix of women, as far as birthplace, career, race, backstory, etc and I felt like it contained a good amount of facts in a short enough story that my kids would enjoy 1-2 before bed. However, the prose itself I struggled with, it felt very stilted to me, in some stories more so than others.

Very inspiring, just like the first 2 books in the 'series.'
