i don’t want to give this book 3 stars because it’s so sO SO GOOD. but i kinda have to do it - i didn’t enjoy this at all when i started reading it.
however, the second part of the book is amazing af. it’s so intense and sad and beautiful!!! the characters are my babies and i want to protect them from all the bad in the world.
my heart is happy for henry because he gets to be one of the main characters in this one (it’s what he deserves). AND we have a new chinese main character who’s my precious cinnamon roll. i just love her so much, i hope to see more of her in the third book.
also my otp should date!!! libba bray, you better not disappoint me - i’ve been waiting for these fools to get together since the moment they met.

My copy of Before the Devil Breaks You can’t seem to get here fast enough.
This. Was. Awesome. We have the same cast of characters from The Diviners, but this time our focus is on Henry and the green-eyed girl that briefly appeared in the first book. I just love this series and everything about it. The cast of characters is diverse, the writing is deeply engrossing, the plot and backstory of each of the characters is so rich, and the conflicts are so creepy (and I’m usually not one for reading paranormal books). If you have yet to pick this series up, please do!

Not as great as the first one which I loved but still really good. This series is considered young adult but it's Soo much better than most of the young adult I've ever read. 3.5 stars
