i'm greatly enjoying this series! i always end up reading the books in one big session because i just can't tear myself away. i love the characters and story and lore and politics so much. i really love ciri's character and her relationships with everyone around her. it's so easy for her to develop such strong bonds and to adapt to all the changes going on in her life. i found myself tearing up at times when she has gone through so much and still has this innate sense of kindness in her. she and geralt are truly two of my most favorite characters of all time and i'm excited to continue this journey.

I think this is my favorite out of the series so far! This book might be ranked more at a 3.5 if I wasn't already attached to the characters from the other formats of this story. I am not the biggest fan of how the author writes some of the story and I feel like if I didn't have that background already I wouldn't connect to the characters as much which would bring the rating down.

Overall I enjoyed this book, enough so that I will be reading the next instalment of the series. Some of the scenes were quite dull, but the more enjoyable ones made up for it. It also suffers a bit from the “men writing women” problem that made me a tad uncomfortable, but it didn’t completely ruin the experience. It’s a decent fantasy read, if you enjoy that then this book will likely be enjoyable.
