DNF.
I swear I tried. However I just could not enjoy this book. There are so many inconsistencies, plot holes, random changes without buildups, lack of world building, and an annoying MC. For example, our MC claims to like solitude and dislikes romantic/intimate relationships, but falls for her kidnapper after a day or two and allows him to kiss her even after she told him she needs time. Our kidnapper was a town gaurd (or some sort of authority in the town? But now has endless free time to be with her. Our MC never even thinks about escaping.

"Ask any woman and she would tell you he’s perfect. Any one besides me, of course. I saw the flaws that made him otherwise."First of all, that is a big assumption to make, and second of all, her mindset switches so quickly after this it's like she never even resisted his apparent attractiveness.
"he asked, then smiled. Any other girl would swoon, but not me. Luckily, I’m immune to such atrocities."HA. Right. Not even a day alone with him amd she already wants his babies.
"To depend on myself, and no one else, appealed to me. Solitude also meant never getting hurt by anyone again. Before any of that could happen, I needed to go back home to grab my things."??? I'm sorry but you were literally just chased out of town by the authority and now you want to go back a few hours later? How dumb are you??? And of course she gets caught.
"As the blindfold pulled away from my eyes, allowing them to adjust by blinking away the blur, I found myself standing in the foyer of a small palace. Everything was made from white stone, polished and gleaming. Beautiful."Her first thoughts after being kidnapped and having her blindfold taken off. Not where she is, who took her, what they look like, how to escape ect.
"Your questions are best kept for Marren.” “Wonderful!” I threw my hands up into the air and stompped forward."Childish. She is even incredibly rude to Enid who is doing his best to answer all her questions and has brrn nothing but kind to her.
"The soft lips… my heart did a strange flip before sinking lower. The shift in me scared me. I’m always careful to maintain better control of myself. I shifted my sight away from him and cleared my throat."Right. Control. You're not even the same MC. Can't be. She saw his flaws and told him he wouldnt be able to charm her bc he is arrogant remember?
"and came to realize he appeared the same as he always did. For the entire time I’d known him, he hadn’t aged... “I’ve known you for five years, and in that time, you’ve never appeared any older.”ok 5 years is not a big deal. And i did not think she knew him that long bc of how they act around each other? Like maybe a year at most but 5?
"What I’m about to tell you, and show you, is a lot to take in, but it’s important you understand exactly what you are getting yourself into before you get in too deep.”He says after professing his love and then pressuring her into trying anyway when she said she is uncomfortable
"You should already know I wouldn’t have let you kiss me if I didn’t want you to.” Although, that might not be true."Umm what??
