There was no need for book 2 and 3, 1 was enough 😄

When I saw that this was a pen name for Joely Sue Burkhart, I knew I had to immediately read it. Plus, it was a single mom romance which I’m loving now. This trilogy gets a 4-star review from me which I will explain why now.

I loved the single mom aspect of this series and loved how the guy’s rescued Shelby and her kids from rock bottom. It was romantic and sweet and brought butterflies to my stomach. The guys were all swoon worthy, and each had qualities that I liked.

Now this is a RH romance, but it did not really feel like it. While Shelby had four guys, I only felt a real connection between her and only one of the guy’s Chris. The only guys just happened to be there, to make sure Chris did not hurt Shelby as he was a war vet with PTSD. Her and Chris had lots of alone time and their relationship had depth that the others were lacking.

Now the single mom aspect. It was good but I found it odd that only two of the guys truly accepted the kids. Chris and Ev just seemed to tolerate them because they came with Shelby. It was just strange to me, and I feel like if they truly loved her, they would love her children and express it to them. Sure, the children did not go without, but I just think they all four could have been dads to the children but just two of them. I mean when Shelby gets pregnant, which is not a spoiler as it is in the title, they all agree to be the dad and have the child call them dad but for the other two they had to choose only one person to call dad. I just find it strange and I kind of felt bad for the children.

I am glad that I picked up this trilogy because I got to experience the beautiful words of Sharan Daire. She writes words from the soul, and they just hit you right in the heart. They make you believe that love truly exists. Honestly, the beautiful words of Sharan Daire saved this book to me as the romance between the characters fell flat.

So sweet

I am shocked I enjoyed this. It is so sweet though. Utterly and completely unrealistic and silly, but heartwarming at the same time. A good palate cleanser if you have been reading some dark things.

3.5⭐️ for this why choose single mom romance

Shelby has no money, no home, and no food for her kids. To top it off she breaks down in the middle of nowhere. County Sheriff, Derek, wants to care for her immediately. Luckily his twin brother, Kaleb, is a mechanic and quickly comes to help. Now to introduce her to their best friends Everett and Chris. Could she be the missing piece?

This was pretty good! I loved the character development in Chris. He starts out super closed off and Shelby definitely loves him enough to break him free from his baggage.

I loved how the twins immediately took to Shelby’s kids. Did feel kind of weird not seeing the other two men really involved with them. But I did enjoy how they come together as a family and support one another.

I personally didn’t care for all the “abso-fucking-lutely”.. felt super overused, especially in the end.
