I unexpectedly really loved this so so much. The emotions just pour off of the page. The way the characters are intertwined and the story unfolds to fit it all together is really good. Definitely going into the favourites pile.

Though I do wish there was more on what Noah was like at 16 and the resolution felt kinda rushed at the end. Was left wanting a little bit more.

I read this book to come out of a reading slump and oh boi, did it help. I think I knew what I was getting into when I started it - turns out I was wrong, luckily I guess. It seems like a love story at first and it is, but not how you‘d imagine it to be. While the romantic relationships play an important part for the plot and are very well done but actually it is about the love between twins who lose and find each other several times over the years. It’s got some great life lessons, inspirations and is generally a very well rounded , enjoyable story.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHGH I CANNOT PUT MY LOVE FOR THIS BOOK INTO WORDS. I’m literally using every little neuron in my brain right now to type out these stupid sentences. These characters are so alive, I feel like I know and love them like a bestfriend. It’s like we’ve laughed and cried together and sending them off when I finished this book just crushed me. I wish I could read this forever, embed myself in the pages. I wish I could create art like this -writing or painting- but that means I haven’t learned shit from reading this. It doesn’t matter if I’m good, it doesn’t matter if I’m shit. I’m probably both at once. In the beginning I was so attached to Noah, I felt that he and I were too similar, then comes along Jude and it’s that same feeling a second time. Never have I felt like this twice in one book. It’s a quarter to one and I’m having a full blown crisis. Usually I assign a song to every book I finish but I don’t know anything that’ll sum up this experience (I STAND CORRECTED LOL)

Song:
  • Lost It to Trying - Son Lux
  • this is me trying - Taylor Swift

Such an amazing book - and if you're on the fence about whether or not to pick it up, all I can say is this: READ. IT. I can promise you that there won't be any regrets.

When I first started this book, I had no motivation to read it and was kind of iffy about it (that might be cause I read it for my school read for the unit), but then toward the end once everything started connecting I was so interested and was getting like whiplash from it all. It was truly such a beautiful book and honestly still haven’t processed it all. I recommend it a lot, especially if you’ve dealt with Greif or loss of any kind, it truly gave me a wake up call a bit and made me feel more grateful for my brother.

It would have been an amazing book if it weren't for several problematic things I couldn't ignore. I usually don't write reviews but this book left me full of anger and disappointment.

So here are some of the things wrong about this book:
- female MC's sexual assault was hardly acknowledged
- ending felt rushed and there were so many things that needed to be talked over and resolved, it felt utterly unrealistic how everything was suddenly perfect
- and the biggest problem of all is this so called "relationship" between a MINOR (16F) and an ADULT (19M), such relationships should not be condoned and I was so disappointed with how it turned out that it completely ruined everything I previously liked about this book

DNF review: The writing style isn't for me and I was bored, confused and honestly kind of annoyed for the whole 67 that I read.

2° opportunity and finished review:
This book was really hard to get into- the writing is very metaphoric and? at the same time, kind of childish/immature and I honestly didn't knew what was happening in the first 100 pages or so. Some situations also didn't make much sense considering the character's age. The chapters were SO LONG and maybe it was too slow-paced for me. However, these characters are vibrant- they have so much life, personality and depth. The story is good (with some ups and downs), but it's definitely the characters that stand out in this book. I was also very satisfied with the ending, which definitely played a big part on my overall positive review.
