This book gave me so many emotions and thoughts and I need all my friends to read it so I can talk to them about it.

An appealing book full of insight into human nature, and what it meant to be living in Germany in the 20th century without wealth or power. Until the last 50 pages though I wasn't completely engaged; but the last section, dealing with extreme old age, was moving and emotive, and felt real and universal. Impressive over enjoyable.

Fantastisk!

“She was trapped in her Mosaic origins as if in a cage, knocking herself black and blue against its bars”
