We’re getting to the point in the series when I don’t want to share anything for spoiler reasons. Yes there’s a buttons for it but no, I refuse to press it. Let’s just say this is two books the first 90%, and then the last 10% that kicks in your chest.

Every time I think the story is getting a bit stale, she throws in another twist, another way to change up the story. Really enjoying this series.

This book was just as much fun as the first three but dear god... the END!?! I'm destroyed.

This one was a bit more interesting than the past two books. Now Temeraire and Laurence travel to Africa and have lots of adventures. The British still allow slavery, and that's one of the big themes in this book.

The atmosphere reminds me of old books I read when I was younger; books by Rudyard Kipling, J. Rider Haggard, Edgar Rice Burroughs... but of course more modern and more politically correct.

I can't wait to read the next book.
