I’ve read both the original version of this series as well as these first two re-worked books and I’m definitely glad they’re aging up the content and adding some tension/spice. The twisted sisters are always good at writing angst/tension.

I enjoyed the reworked version of book 2 and appreciate the enhanced descriptions/storytelling. I’m very intrigued to see if/how the story changes or evolves as we go on since they’re changing the titles to the books alongside the rework!

Highlights:
- Dystopian
- Vampires
- Vampire slayers
- Ancient curse & prophecies
- Forced Proximity
- Slow burn series
- Twin FMCs

Note: I received an advance copy and this is my honest opinion.

The sisters never cease to amaze me.
Right from the beginning it pulls you in giving you the true origin of the first vampires and how they came to be.
Then those moments when it was Callie and Magnar traveling together 🔥 the back ad forth with them is just so good.
Then you get to see Erik and Montana together and see the banter that they have. It’s this hate filled with lust and vengeance thing and it’s 😮‍💨
The glimpses you get into past had me shook seeing Valentina and how she was connected to Magnar. I’m also wondering how it’s going to go with Montana promising different things to Erik and Miles.
Then just when I’m thinking that maybe things are going to start in their favor BAM my heart gets SHATTERED😭 knowing that both the twins were fighting so hard to get him to safety  only for that to happen 😭😭
What does that ending mean for Callie and Magnar?! Is it over before it even truly starts🥺
