Elizabeth Oliphant is Completely Fine is a true “weird girl” story in a way that really made me fall in love with it. I love Elizabeth’s voice as a narrator - so unique & so her. I also love the lessons that the book teaches us when it comes to dealing with loneliness, building a community with those around you, and finding joy in the little things.

It’s not a perfect book by any means. For one, it’s a book where not much happens. Usually, I don’t mind that, but I would often put the book down for long periods of time because it would bore me a bit. But I stuck with it because I really wanted to know what would happen next. Also, the ending left me feeling a bit unsatisfied as a reader. I don’t mind that it left things a bit open-ended - I think it makes sense for this story - but I feel like Elizabeth had really serious trauma to work through that didn’t feel like it could be wrapped up that quickly. The ending felt a bit rushed, honestly!

Eleanor Oliphant is certain she’s found ‘the one’ — a handsome band member who she sees on stage one night after winning tickets to a concert. It was fate.

While she begins to work on her ‘project’, Eleanor meets a new co-worker named Raymond. They end up spending more time together after they save the life of an elderly man they find in the street, They become honorary members of Sammy’s family, and for the first time, Eleanor finds herself amongst friends.

I’ve had this book on my TBR for years after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I’ve put it off, knowing that I trusted this friend’s recommendation and wanted to wait for the perfect moment to pick it up. As I’d anticipated, it won my heart.

While I can’t claim to wholly relate to Eleanor’s character/personality (honestly, I wish I could speak my mind as she does, there was a lot in this book that hit me. The book tackles some difficult topics and doesn’t shy away from the grit. It also focuses a great deal on friendship with hints of found family. It wasn’t quite what I’d anticipated, nonetheless, it was a lovely reading experience.

This book was just amazing. I found myself completely captivated by Eleanor's complex and raw journey as she navigates the world in her own unique way. I laughed, I cried, and I felt all the feels. Definitely a 5-star read for me - it's one of those stories that I'll carry with me for a long time.

SOOO GOOD
I loved how the story didn’t feel it needed to give a proper romantic ending, it made the story all the more memorable. It took back the authors power of making Eleanor’s story the focal point and going against convention
