This book is truly a masterpiece, this is more like two books than one actually, but it is so damned good. The world keeps on getting bigger, the emotions Erikson makes me feel are so deep. We get introduced to a lot of nasty stuff this book, but the emotions that still resonate in me are that of compassion and pain. The characters are on a different level, I had the feeling that some of them were just ideas, but no, they are themselves for better or for worse. Some of the stand outs from this book are Rake, Whyskeyjack, Paran, Quick, Tattersail, Picker, Korlat, Itkovian and so much more. Another great thing about this book is the themes it explores, especially motherhood, I didn’t pick it up the first time around that there were mainly two sides being explored, but it really hurt sometimes thinking about it. Another thing I enjoyed was the relationships, the romantic ones are not the greatest on paper but the platonic ones were on point this book.

This was the last book I had read previously I now head on to uncharted territory and I couldn’t be more excited.

Always an even trade.
