A fun short story that contains a more “normal” mystery to solve. It was neat that all of the main characters had a turn telling their chapter from their own point of view instead of the regular novels which are all told from Tory’s point of view. Also nice to have Tempe Brennan drop in a well!

I really likes the shifting perspectives but I found the dialogue a bit forced. It was a quick cheesy read.

A placeholder story for a placeholder ebook, designed to tide fans over between the second and third Virals books. Still, it stayed true to the characters and gave them a mini-mystery to solve.

Recommended for fans, though having read book three, I wouldn't call it necessary to experience the series.

I love this series, so when I saw that Kathy had written a short story I knew I had to read it. I loved the different points of view, getting to see how each person thinks, reacts to going viral, and how they figure things out in regards to investigation.
The added bonus of seeing Temperance just made it that much worth while to read this book. As usual, the Virals are up to no good, and have decided to investigate a recent break in at LIRI. Using their powers they are able to find the smallest clues in helping solve the case, that also leads them directly to the stolen equipment and who is responsible.

Shift was a quick read and I enjoyed getting to spend time with the Virals again.

This short story was nice and sweet, and I loved being in the guy's heads! And those final 2 chapters, being in Kit and Tempe's heads, was so great! Really great short story!

A fun short story adventure with the Virals. Someone has broken into a lab on Loggerhead Island and stolen all the equipment, so Tory decides the VIrals should investigate. Interesting to see how they approach a crime scene and make use of their abilities.

Break-in at LIRI! Different POVs! Tory & co. try to find the thief!

A nice insight into the heads of each of the Virals, including Kit & visiting Tempe, as the Virals gang try to solve the theft of some LIRI lab equipment.

This was a great mini-adventure for the Virals! While I'm usually not a fan of alternating POVs, it was nice to be able to hear the story from ALL of the Virals' points-of-view, as well as select adults. I was also ecstatic to learn there is something to the Ben/Tory dynamic I've been rooting for since book one! This got me in the mindset to finally read [b:Code|7744611|Code (Virals, #3)|Kathy Reichs|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1341408951s/7744611.jpg|10566392], so it served its purpose well.
