Another quick, fun read I was able to read in ebook format. This is the story of Lydia's 2nd year in business at her shop on Blossom Street. The characters we me in the first book, Jaqueline, Carol, and Alix, flit in and out of the story to give it some continuity, but I really don't think you'd miss anything if you picked this book up and read 'out of order'.

This book is about a new knitting class; socks this time. The 3 knitters are Courtney, Bethanne, and Elise. Courtney is a troubled teen who is grieving her mother's death and has come to Seattle for her senior year of HS. She is living with her grandmother while her father is working in Brazil. Bethanne is a woman who has suffered a tramatic divorce and is suddenly on her own, raising 2 HS kids (who become friends with Courtney) and struggling to survive. Elise is a grandmother who has lost her retirement income in a bad real estate deal. She now lives with her daughter and family. She raised her daughter as a single parent after divorcing her husband, Maverick, a professional gambler. Maverick is about to reenter her life, like it or not.

This is another 'happy ever after' ending and light, happy read.

This is one of my more favorite Debbie Macomber books! I don’t have the whole series but this one makes me want to get the others. I really enjoyed the characters in the book being all different ages and backgrounds. Keeping up with each of them was so relatable and made the book go so quickly. I especially loved the Courtney/Andrew plot, it made the high schooler in me so happy!

Digital audiobook narrated by Linda Emond

This is book two in the Blossom Street series, featuring Lydia Hoffman, owner of “A Good Yarn” in Seattle Washington, and the people who come to her store for knitting classes and form friendships as a result.

It’s a charming, easy read with an ensemble cast that includes teenagers and seniors, and every age in between. Happy marriages, divorces, dating scenarios, crushes, and disappointments. People struggle with financial ruin, job loss and major health issues. The reader shares their ups and downs, and it ends on a predictably upbeat note.

I haven’t read the first book in the series, though I have read other books by Macomber. They are all mind candy, comfort reads. Enjoy!

Linda Emond does a fine job narrating the audiobook. She has a lot of characters to voice and manages to keep them straight.
