Sweet

My only complaint is that it was too short. I really liked the characters, and just wanted more of them.

I liked the story. But oh my goodness. When there are 2-3 pages of thoughts while they are in the middle of a conversation is just wayyy too much!!!! There was too much inner dialogue. The conversation couldn’t just flow. I really didn’t like that. I skipped a lot of it.

I thought that this book was pretty cute. I liked the romance. However, while the message was cute, and the execution was alright, I thought that the book could have been more developed in the new relationships Ronnie had with the girls on the soccer team, for example. Little things like that got skimmed over, which was a bit irritating. In general, though, this was a cute, quick read.

Quick read

This is a quick read that has all the parts for a Romance. It is just lacking in the plot department. While I enjoyed the old friends and new view it was almost flat.

I enjoyed this story. It's a fun, entertaining young adult read. Ronnie is trying to figure out who she is in her junior year at a new school. She takes the chance to reinvent herself as more than just one of the guys and another jock. She wants to be seen as a girl, a dateable girl, by boys and has not had that happen at her old high school. Luckily she has some good friends that help her stay true to herself within this process. She runs into Drew, who she knows from growing up with him but he doesn't recognize her. I liked the way that the story developed and thought it handled some great aspects of being a teenager. The story is a fun one and can be read for pure enjoyment. It also has some good lessons that are blended into the story well. It's about how you can be more than people see you but that doesn't mean that you have to make a drastic change; that it's okay to not know exactly you who are and that you can explore and try different things and still be true to yourself.

This book need serious editing. Too much inner monologue and i lost count of how many times Drew said “veronica or Ronnie smith” like you don’t have to say both her names every time you think of her. Also it was rushed in my opinion and there were repetitive parts especially in the beginning.

Briarwood High Book One.

Veronica 'Ronnie' Smith is determined to start out at her new school with a completely new look and attitude. She will no longer be invisible to her classmates. To this end, her friend Margo has given her a blowout, new clothes and makeup. However, when she arrives for the first day of school everything is put in jeopardy as she runs into an old classmate, Drew Remi. Luckily - or not - he doesn't recognize her at all. Veronica doesn't even know how to react to the situation, so she acts like she doesn't know him either. After compounding untruths are revealed, Veronica is stuck in the role she cast herself in. Drew can't help falling for the new girl, but he also knows she cannot be his.

If you're looking for a high school romance with two people who don't believe in games, this is the book for you.
