I bought these off the rack when I was a kid, and loved every Grell issue to death (tho the switch to Colletta as inker was a real drag).
Reading now, for the first time since the 70s, O'Neil's writing is stilted, ideas are introduced with no follow-up, and there is no real direction to the stories. All of this is extremely surprising, since he not only deservedly won awards for handling these characters just a few years earlier, but also had a hand in completely revamping Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in the early 70s.
And Grell's art is completely awkward, but in the style that works only for him.
