I really enjoyed it overall, but I felt like the middle dragged a bit with slower pacing. At times, it became repetitive, and I found myself just wanting to get to the point. That said, the beginning and ending were excellent and kept me hooked. Despite the slower middle, I did enjoy the story.

Lovely, festive story about family ties, romance and finding out what's most important to you in life. Think I probably put on a pound in weight just reading about all the delights of Noelle's family bakery, the gingerbread house making and the festive cookies she creates but it was worth it! I finished the book with a smile on my face and with a hankering to make some hot chocolate and play some Christmas music.

I read this book after reading "Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses," and the two books are strikingly similar. That said, because I read CWMK first, I have a much fonder attachment to that one than this second read. However, I really enjoyed the story and love all of Jenny Hale's work.

Loved the premise of this one. Unfortunately, it wasn't executed well. The conflicts were very repetitive, and there was no plot progression. The dynamic between the two main characters was very flat. I was more invested in William's (the grandfather) love life than those two. It was very insta love with no real time or bonding spent between the two MCs. Also, the extravagant date then gifts was over the top and made Alexander very unlikable. Not to mention him starting a relationship with a single mom and her kid when he had no plans to see it through. The whole working relationship was very weird right off the bat as well. The writing was also overly descriptive and combined with no plot progression made for a very slow read.

3.5 stars - really cute and I loved the backstory. I actually liked the backstory more than the current day romance actually. I loved the bakery. I think I may just be a little burned out of adult contemps right now but this was really cute.

4 stars. A quick, cheerful Christmas read. This was a nice book with lovely characters (particularly Noelle and Lucas). Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get in the Christmas spirit extra early this year! Jenny Hale certainly has a talent for creating that wonderful festive feel in her books and this one left me smiling.
