the romance was really good in this one, Wrath was absolutely fabulous in this book! But the mystery and plot were all over the place...
***spoilers ahead***
I actually got lost more then one time, could not for the love of goddesses understand why Emilia gave up the interrogations of the wicked after like 3 seconds of the talk with Envy? It was her plan from the start, then comes the boi and spills about some magic mirror and suddenly it's all she thinks about? Thats was not very smooth tbh... I just had that nagging feeling, that all of the sudden plot twist were kind of forced ?

But the romance... THE ROMANCE AND ANGST AND TENSION WAS **chef's kiss**
I loved the little scenes between Emilia and Wrath in the kitchen? The one when she makes pesto and confesses her fears to him had me SHOOKED !!!

so ultimately 4 out of 5

Spent a good portion of this book frustrated by the FMC and how long it takes to see any character development but I am looking forward to see how she and the storyline progress in book 3.

Spoiler This book was a bit of a mixed bag for me I really enjoyed the main characters and watching the relationship grow. It wasn’t a surprise to me that wrath turned out to be the devil because I kind of saw that coming although I think the explanation was a little convoluted. I kind of feel like certain parts of the plot are convoluted too. I was surprised that Emilia‘s sister is still alive and she seems to be more complicated than we thought. I will definitely be reading the next book if only to have my questions answered and to see more of Wrath and Emilia interacting.
