Over a quarter of these poems impacted me deeply, which I personally think is very strong for any anthology, especially a posthumous published anthology.

I do feel like I needed more historical knowledge to enjoy this as it deserves. Which is entirely my fault for going in relatively blind.

Gorgeous, gorgeous.
Fierce and fiery and passionate and loving and angry.
So many lines just stunned me.

Not my type of poetry, but it was interesting to get into Persian literature. The selection wasn’t as diverse as I’d hoped it would be. Almost every poem had the same rhythm, same themes, same style, same descriptions…etc. I just personally don’t like it. But I think this collection would be good for preteens or teenagers who’re just getting into poetry and are into romantic themes.
