I liked how the short stories connected in Lovecraft Country, but I prefer how the action was broken up in this one. Each section focused on a couple story lines that were told in alternating shorter chapters coming together in the end. It added to the tension.
I loved getting another visit into this world and seeing the characters navigate the magic/weird sci-fi and horrors they encounter.
SpoilerIt ends in a coda which seems to set up a third book, especially because some things aren't completely resolved.

Great expansion to the first book and I hope there's a third one coming. feels like there's more to tell here.

I loved this one even more than Lovecraft Country! I hope  season 2 will be forthcoming after the strike as I also love the show.

Not as good as the first one. Also felt very short, like it was one of the stories from the first book and not a whole book on its own.

The one thing I really like about this, and the previous book, is the strength of characters. Despite the world they live in trying to limit them to the color of their skin, they are individuals with their own wants and moral lines, that they are willing to cross to get those wants.

I am assuming there will be another book, as this one ended on a cliffhanger, and I will definitely pick that up when it comes out.
