What a fantastic end to a great series. That blew me away. I literally couldn't have asked for more. I love Karin Slaughter and this is her at her best. I obviously don't want to say much here, but this book had all the elements I love from her- Lena Adams being a screw up, Jeffrey and Sara bringing their own drama, small town racists and conspiracies. Just so much fun and such a good time.

That ending, though. Peak literature.

My poor broken heart. I am so sad to see the end of this book. It is the ending for so many things in Grant County. I can't even really come to grips with what happened in this book. I feel for Lena, but I am so damn sick of her bullshit. That's all I can say really. It is well written and captivating it deserves 5 brokenhearted stars.

Such a great final book to the series, but the ending shattered my heart. I'm so happy that I started this series, and am sad to see it end. The cliffhangers and twists, amazing. The ending, devastating. I highly HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone who likes a darker, more vivid, police-procedural thriller!

4.5 stars. This was a 5 star read until the last 1/4 of the book (and I already knew the big spoiler bc I read Will Trent first, so it’s not bc of that). The first 3/4 of the book was brilliant and you learn a ton of backstory about Lena. I’m still team-Lena, that girl has been through it! The book is super fast-paced, which I love, but it had so many characters that it got hard to keep track at the end. It was confusing how the two story lines merged, I got the big details, but couldn’t follow every tiny one. But I don’t think all of these tiny details and characters were necessary, so for me it detracted rather than enhanced. But, overall, this was a great book that kept me glued to every page from the moment I picked it up.
