The Wedding Party by Tammy Cohen
I give this book 3.75 stars

Till death do us part . . .
Lucy has always dreamt of her wedding day and now the day is almost here. Everyone is gathered on an idyllic Greek island and she just knows it's going to be perfect. It has to be.
But even the best-laid plans can go horribly wrong. Why are her parents behaving so strangely? Why won't the rather odd lady from the airport stop hanging around? Who is the silent stranger her sister brought as a plus-1?
And then they find the body......lts going to be a day to remember!

I found this book well written and easy to read. There are a vast array of characters for you to love or hate, and in their own way they all add to the story coming together in different ways. The tension, suspense and mystery gradually build up to what really happened.Families, friends and secrets it has it all.
With thanks to Netgalley,Tammy Cohen and Random House UK,Transworld Publishers for my chance to read and review this book

There's so much drama & I loved it! I loved the setting for this story and how that added to the situation. I really enjoyed how the tension built, with transcripts of police interviews interspersed with the chapters. We know at the start that someone dies - it takes a little time, but it soon starts to unravel for everyone & it turns into a wedding that everyone will remember.

Thanks to Random House UK, Transworld Publishers & NetGalley for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

A wedding has to be a moment of happiness and dreams, am I right?
This will not be the case of Lucy’s wedding; she will have all her friends and family at the idillic Greek island. Sadly, the mood is not the one you’ll expect to see in any wedding; jealousy, rivalry, secrets and death! Let’s be honest, even if the place has an amazing atmosphere I would never like to go to a wedding like this!
This is slow paced story, full of characters and stories to discover. I’ll admit that in the beginning it’s a little bit tricky to following all the characters and who is who related to the main character, Lucy, but once you start entering the story you can see that every detail is important and that it will make the story complete.
I have to say that I didn’t like the characters of the book, probably that’s why I struggled a little in the beginning; a bride with too many demands, a groom paying more attention to the mother than the bride, the sister of the bride only wanting knowledge… yes, I don’t think I can save any of them! But, possibly this makes the story more intriguing, you don’t know who to trust or who will be dead, believe me, there are so many secrets that I don’t think anyone has been real in their life!
This is a well plotted and twisted read, but maybe not your read if you are planning to get married soon!

Oh my god but these characters are horrible people! I loved it. I thought the plot was great, the characters well written and realistic and I very much enjoyed watching their lives become unmoored from the reality they had built for themselves

A gripping read from start to finish, I loved the mystery element right up to the last few chapters! The story had so many interesting interweaved storylines that all came together to add a sense of doubt and suspicion for all characters. A great thriller that is very easy to read. I found the ending quite sad really, which felt fitting with the tone of the book.

Lucy The Considerate - as her family and friend thinks of her - is a rather shallow and insufferable woman/budding tyrant. Yet, someone is willing to marry her. They are enjoying a week of shenanigans, only very sophisticated ones tho, in Greece where the plot slogs along and stretches like a hot, sweaty afternoon. Some alternating chapters between the lead up to the wedding and the murder and police interview transcripts after the fact break up the rhythm a bit. All in all, not bad, but also not particularly exciting for me.

2.5 rounded up to 3. Started off with promise and I liked where it was heading with different characters all with different reasons for killing someone but I’ve been left disappointed. Some things were never really explained and it was quite clear through out who the ‘victim’ would be. Not the best ending, felt it had more to give.

Lots of drama and grown adults acting like self centered brats, the ending was bland in comparison to how juicy the lead up was.
