I wanted to like this book more than I did. As a hardcore Twin Peaks fan I thought I'd enjoy this deep look into the character the show really revolved around, but the subject matter was simply too much at times.Imagine Lolita without any of the subtlety. The book seemed to lose its point in trying to be too edgy and I felt like it only captured the Laura Palmer of FWWM and the show in bits and pieces. Even though it is supposedly canonical to the series and movie, it has major discrepancies between them that along with the dark subject matter annoyed me. Plus the charm of Twin Peaks seemed lost, rather than endearing me more to Laura's struggle it just made her and the other characters seem monstrous. Generally a bit blech. As a fan, if you're a fan and think you can make it through might as well read it but be warned it's a disappointment.

capping my stars at 3.75 since it's a tv show tie-in novel. but it's very well written, reads more like a traditional book than Dale's "My Life, My Tapes" book, and gives a lot of insight into Laura Palmer's life. I think it's required reading for any fan of Laura Palmer / Twin Peaks, though it is very heavy. Jennifer Lynch does a good job of creating the voice of a very traumatized child.

Muy bien escrito, Jennifer Lynch nos abre la ventana a la mente y alma de Laura Palmer; un personaje que cobra vida gracias a este libro, sobre todo acompañado de FWWM.

poor poor laura :(
si ce paralela frumoasa ,laura a noastra citeste un fel de jurnal al lui bataille ,iar eu jurnalul laurei palmer ca sa fiu si mai completionista ca nu am vazut deja ,toate sezoanele ,fire walk with me ,extra tapes, ..acum citesc si cartea
ieri unul domnii de la digi se holba la domnisoara cam mult cand o vedea pe pat (speram ca zice ca si el se uita la twin peaks ,dar cred ca a fost mai mult infiorat..)
