this one was a cute and nice enough read but nothing exceptional, really. it was kinda boring sometimes and felt a little too slow-paced for me from time to time. the idea for the story is quite intriguing, though, and i found myself liking grandma eileen's story a tad better than leena's because it was much more exciting and i felt there was going on more. what a great character, this old lady. nevertheless, the story lacked some kind of action and idk, it just wasn't my sort of book, or at least not at the moment. still cute.

I kept kinda waiting for something to happen. It does by the end, which earned the 4th star instead of just 3. It also made me really miss my grandma. All around a good book, albeit slower than my preferred pace.

i cried.

I LOVED THIS. I loved the story and writing styles and how funny it was and the characters. However, I struggled with reading this and it took a while to read. this is mainly bc of simply HOW many named characters there are, I was constantly getting confused and had to keep checking the x-ray on the kindle app. I felt like some of these characters didn’t need to be named but most of them i loved.

Really cute book. Loved the grandmother's storyline way more, but had small town Hallmark feel, but with a lot more depth. Recommend.

This book tells the story of Leena and her Grandmother Eileen swapping lives for six weeks, both need a break and choose to bark on this adventure. We see Leena move to the countryside where her Grandmother lives, and learns to fit into village life after living and working in London. Meanwhile Eileen has moved into Leena's apartment in London with her flatmates. Eileen tries online dating and going on adventures. Both Leena and Eileen are grieving for Carla, Leena's sister. Grief is woven into the storey beautifully, and the book still remains light in nature. Such a fun read to start the year.

It took me a while to get into the book, but the minute the plot starting picking up I couldn't put it down (literally, I fell asleep trying to finish it at 5am).

I loved both Eileen Cottons, the development they went through was adorable too. I loved the ending, though I wished we had more on Leena and her partner at the end.
