This is a book of short stories with each work being a reimagining of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Short stories are not my favorite format so I started somewhat reluctantly. While a couple of the stories were good, the vast majority missed the mark for me.

as with every anthology there were some stories i really liked and some i wasn't a huge fan of, but i enjoy shakespeare and retellings, breezed through the anthology pretty quickly, and had a good time with it

Does Mark Oshiro have the best gender twists in Twelfth Night ever? Yup. Is there an amazing texting adaptation of R&J in high school? Is Caesar retold through teen girl witches? Does Shylock finally get fair treatment? Loved all of these short stories as new YA contemporary takes. The audio is also fantastic and complements each story so well. Plus several have author’s notes! Every teacher needs to read/listen and share with students!
