This book is fabulous! I love this boy's zest for life and his vocabulary too. It's a rare gift to be able to be brought alive and be excited by the daily gifts life offers and to see the world as fabulous. Who wouldn't want that eyesight. This tale really brightened by day and gave me lots of feel good emotions. What a joy to read.

The kids had a fun time with this book too. We all got to giggling. We took turns finding fabulous things to say about our day. It was a bright spot in the day. They wanted to read this book again. Me too, which is my criteria for 5 stars. Anything I would pick up again gets 5 stars.

The artwork has a retro feel to it that is fabulous and luscious and I enjoyed that too. Fabulous and Fierce darling.

Quite a lot of fun, with lovely buoyant artwork that resembled Cadmus (I suspect intentionally, as it's just a shade different from the artist's normal style). Happy to have a young protagonist who resembles young me, but I'm not sure what the message was: if you improve your vocabulary people will like you better?

(Note: 5 stars = amazing, wonderful, 4 = very good book, 3 = decent read, 2 = disappointing, 1 = awful, just awful. I'm fairly good at picking for myself so end up with a lot of 4s).

Loved the personality of the little boy who is the main character! I also think that this would be an awesome mentor text to talk about adjectives!!

I don't really get how this is a LGBTQ book.

The rhyming was grating in a few parts but the the illustrations are soft and lovely. The message is nice as well, enjoy the little things in life and appreciate the wonderous world around you!

Wonderful little children's book about loving the world and yourself. The message of the book is made quite clear through the actions of the fabulous boy, Roger; you can't pretend to be something you're not and you're much happier not doing so anyway. Great illustrations and rhymes (very good rhythm!)

I only read this because it was listed as an LGBT children's book, but it did not really turn out to be one. The boy uses the word "fabulous" until his parents ban the word so he'll get to school on time (it sort of makes more sense with context). Instead, he decides to diversify his vocabulary with words like "marvelous" and "beautiful". A cute, rhyming story, but unfortunately, not queer, which I obviously am not docking it for, as it is not its fault. (However, goodreads does have it shelved as an LGBT book, and I get where it's an allegory, but it's not a strong enough one for me to shelve it as LGBT. This level of subtext is not representation.)

Not explicitly LGBTQ, but still suggested. Very cute book about the importance of stopping to smell the roses and notice the FABULOUS
