The opening arc was nothing great. I think Johns could have made a lot more of 'mirror projection Barry' or whatever he was, but nothing was done with it. As soon as the second arc began with Scott Kolins as penciller, the game seemed to change--the artwork and the colors are brilliant. I do think a lot more could have been explored with Magenta and Wally's past with her. The concluding story about Iron Heights was a great wrap up and (I assume) segue into the next installment.

One of the all time best runs on the Flash, Johns gets the character like few others (Mark Waid being the only real notable exception). The at is solid throughout this volume but really goes to the next level when Scott Kolins takes over. Even though this run is focused on Wally and not Barry, fans of the current Flash show should not hesitate to check this out.

I enjoyed the Flash series so far. I'll keep reading the next batch until I stop liking it.
