I liked the first 2 books of the series, but I am only a few chapters in and I can't stand the heroine. I also hate how much of an emphasis there is on how the hero is "not cute". Like, it's so bad that it's all anyone has droned on about for the first 12% and I just can't will myself to keep going. I am really disappointed in this one :(

Ok. Listen. This book reminded me a lot of Hard Pass (which was my first Sara Ney book) but guess what? I don't even care. I am HERE for this trope.
Rhett isn't a classically handsome guy, so he's had some trouble finding a girl and when his roommates plaster fliers all over campus with his picture and phone number, he's getting all the offers, but he definitely doesn't want them.
Rhett doesn't strike Laurel's fancy at all. He is really not her type. She is gorgeous and can have any guy she wants, but she soon finds out, looks aren't everything.
Watching Rhett navigate trying to have a relationship was a little painful but I loved him. I loved seeing his confidence bloom. Laurel was so adorably vulnerable with him and these two just made my heart flutter.

It was pretty shallow after the 50% mark. Especially after the main characters becoming an item it was mostly sex no other meaningful interactions that would endear them to me.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the other 2. I think that is mostly because I hated the fact that they kept saying he was ugly and not worth anything and what not. And then even Laurel agreed and went to play with him anyway. And then got upset that he wouldn’t take the bate, until he finally ended up taking it. Just I dunno, I liked the story still. Just wasn’t my favourite. I enjoyed the other ones more.
I also didn’t like that she was set out to be this overly beautiful person and there was NO WAY she would go for him.

I loved this book the most and I have no words to describe how perfect it was.

The writing in this was meh. Conversational, but perhaps TOO conversational. However, I could NOT put this down. It’s like one of those movies you know won’t win an award, but you can’t stop watching until you find out what happens. For me, major misses were constantly referring to the MMC as ugly, and the focus on wrestling (just isn’t the sport for me). Good for a quick, light and smutty read.

Tropes: sports romance, strangers to friends to lovers, nice guy MMC

It was refreshing reversal of trope and that girl was "douchebag". I liked Laurel she had character development something that Oz never did, Rhett was dense but sweet. Also I hate Rex and Eric they are the worst. I thought two them were a cute couple, it wasn't amazing as Zeke book, but still good.
