Okay, so I guess the title is accurate, being the first book that is not "Anne ___". It truly is just about a bunch of people who live in Rainbow Valley. lol It was....fine. I am very glad I was listening because I probably enjoyed it at least a little better since I could multitask. But Anne really takes a backseat and this is also a fairly long book. If it was even 70% of the length, it would have been better. But I was really pretty done with it by about 75% mark. The kids are cute and all, and I'm happy that the minister and his family get a happy ending, but meh. I miss Anne

The focus leaves Anne, and moves to her young children and their friends, the minister's family, following each of their stories. Cute, but I think I liked Anne better than her children.

This is adorable. I felt it was written for an older audience but still included all the childhood charm and detail as previous books. There's romance, mischief and a lot of opinionated churchgoers.

I...didn't love it as much as the other ones and this is 100% because the Blythe family felt like side characters. I love them all so much it wasnt the same with them only popping in and out to help the Meredith storyline.
Now if you never hear from me again it is because I joined the Witness Protection Program so Lauren will never find me.

I liked this book but it wasn’t what I wanted from tot. For a series about Anne Shirley her character completely disappeared. Although, Rainbow Valley is supposed to focus on Anne’s children. But the insane thing is that not only is it not about Anne but it’s not about her children either. It’s about some of their friends. Although, I will say it was a good book.
I’m just slightly upset that Anne’s character has completely disappeared and now she’s basically gone from the story.

It’s a bit off. Am not sure why, I kind of dislike a lot of characters I especially find the maid Susan absolutely annoying “mrs doctor dear” good god nearly every utterance has that In somewhere. I just find it odd and a bit dull.
