I listened to this book mostly on audio.  Devon Price, an Insightful and actually autistic author, nicely organized chapters into topics that challenge neuronormative standards of living, describe the dangers of masking, and mentions caveats to consider when unmasking.  Price includes loads of resources. A highly informative, well-researched read with relevant anecdotes from autistic experiences.

I think everyone should read this. So well written, supported by a lot of research (the author has a PhD in social psychology) and so intersectional and beautiful

A must-read for Autistics, people who suspect they may be Autistic, loved ones of Autistics, people in the mental health industry, and also literally everyone. Among other helpful information, there are great resources on how to make public spaces and events accessible to Autistics and other disabled people. There is also incredibly helpful information on the support needs, including in communication, for Autistics and those who interact with us (which is everyone).

The writing and audio are extremely accessible and understandable. Information is substantiated with studies and many interviews.

This book has helped me immeasurably. It taught me new and deeper ways of unmasking with the help of what felt like a parasocial relationship with autistic community via the extensive interviews and sources used in the book. It doesn't give you any copout answers; Dr Price lays out the small thing autistic folk like me can do for ourselves but more significantly, the systemic changes we must fight for if the world is to be safe, free and joyful for everyone.
