This was fine, especially liked the Ottawa setting, but Iā€™m not in the mood for this heavy kink.

If it's possible, Max and Violet are even spicier than Ellie and Gavin! I love Max and Violet separately, but together they are šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ I love them so much.

Violet is a powerhouse in her own right. She owns every bit of her sexuality and refuses to be shamed for it! She is a strong woman and a no nonsense way of being in her everyday job. Though her relationship with Max starts out as just sex, I could see how every time they "scened" together, the love and respect for each other grew.

I loved Max in book one, and my love for him grew in his story. I love the sweetness and kindness he shows to his patients and to Violet when needed. But also him being so dominant with her was šŸ„µšŸ„µšŸ„µ I love seeing both sides of him. Their relationship really grew over the 350 pages.

Hot D/s scenes within the context of a relationship. Slut as a compliment. Lawyer / doctor romance. Client gray lines.

Abusive parents. Child actor shit.

Max

I liked Max. I grew to like Violet. I was a little surprised at her reaction after their first encounter.

This was not a quick read, but it was entertaining. Parts of this book were very sweet, which I also found surprising. I wish there had been more of Violet's neighbor in this book. He sounded much more interesting .

The end of the book really makes me want to read Lachlan and Beth's book.

In Dr. Bad Boy Max is an enigma, wrapped in a contradiction, wrapped in a hard candy shell. He's set in his ways, he's a caring Doctor, and he is a sadist. Luckily Violet is an independent woman, a very competent lawyer, and a masochist. BDSM plays a strong role in this story and in Max's life, some of it may be hard to read. But they are always sane, safe, and consensual. Violet and Max's story draws you in, their instant attraction and compatibly is HOT right out of the gate. They both have some baggage to work through, but with each step you root for them, and the HEA is the definition of satisfaction.
