It’s been a while since I read Renegades and Archenemies, but it was easy to fall back into the superheroes world. I’ve always been a fan of those stories, and Marissa Meyer wrote this one brilliantly. The story kept surprising me.
It’s not perfect, and it relies a little too much on romance as “stronger than anything else”, but it was very entertaining. I’m glad I finally finished this trilogy. Kinda wish there was a spin-off following that epilogue though 😅

I also found it interesting how Meyer used the same twist for ace and magpie, the actually-not-dead twist. I also wondered if the three twists (evie being magpie, phobia being adrian's creation and ace being evil) were intended from the start of the series. They felt kind of thought of at the last minute but that doesn't diminish their impact! They were great twists! However I didn’t like the ending how everyone got powers, i thought it would be better if no one got their powers back.Graphic: Injury/Injury detail
