Leo’s journey is heartwarming and Cass’ strength and loyalty while still holding him to higher standard is inspiring throughout.

Leo was temptation personified, rugged sex appeal entangled with the thrill of the forbidden. He was the flame I’d known would burn but I’d touched it anyway.

I met those caramel eyes and drowned. Would she hold out a hand to haul me to the surface?

“What are we?”
“Beats the hell out of me. I’ve never done this before.”
“Had a baby?”
“Had a Cassandra.”

He was my safety net. One day, I hoped to be his.

“They will come for us.”
“They will.”
“What do we do?”
“What we’ve always done. We protect what’s ours.”
“At all costs.”

🛞 After surviving a kidnapping by a notorious motorcycle club — which left the perpetrators behind bars — Cass believes she is safe to return to her life of academia. Her one night stand with a rival of said club may prove otherwise, especially considering she is now pregnant.
🛞 Tension 🔥

I don't know if I connected with them as much as the other couples but there were still plenty of sweet scenes; Leo reading to Cass in the bath will live rent free in my mind for a while.
