This book has a wonderfully original plot, and it's left me dying to know what happens next. Its fast-paced storyline never leaves you bored, and the use of parasites as a core societal development trigger is fascinating.

Parasites creating new races and fighting each other. Definitely a page-turner with characters you actually care about in a world at times simplistic but holding a great deal of emotional power. Elei's character is a person you want to keep rooting for.

This was a different read for me and far from what I normally read. I will admit that at the beginning I was a bit confused and had a hard time getting into the story but by page 50 it started grabbing my attention and had me wondering what's gonna happen to this kid next.

While I was able to get wrapped up in the story I find I'm having a hard time figuring out what to say without telling you the whole story. I loved the character of Elei. This poor boy has been shot, almost blown up, and has had his body taken over by a new parasite.

Kalaes with the help of his girlfriend Maera nurse Elei back to health after he shows up at Kalaes apartment. Elei went there because that's where Pelia told him to go after she was shot by the Gultur and she shot Elei. It doesn't take Kalaes to grow attached to Elei even though he said he would never take in a stray again. Soon he's finds himself on the run with Elei after they blow up his apartment and after his boss suggests he takes some time off.

The Gultur are after Elei and he doesn't know why. Hera a mysterious female showed up at Kalaes looking for Elei. She says that she's there to help and needs to know what Pelia said to him before she died. She manages to help them escape from the Gultur to different supposed safe locations a few times. The only problem is that the Gultur keep finding them. Could Kalaes the person who was gonna take him in or Maera who's only ever been nice to him be a spy? What about Hera could she be really working for the Gultur?

This is a good book and a interesting read. The author put a lot of detail into the world and managed to bring it to life. If you like science fiction this is the perfect book for you.

Within the first page or two I was convinced I wasn't going to enjoy this but something made me stick at it and I'm glad I did. Definitely a new idea and a well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This one was a suprise. I got this in 2011 for free in exchange for a review and as they say "Better late than never." I really liked it. It was a new concept for me, I like the pacing. I also like the characters but still a bit predictable.
