Though there was great potential behind this book and these characters I just wasn't impressed. This was not a favorite of mine. There wasn't nearly enough story development or character development for that matter. This story was carried along by an over abundance of sex scenes that just left me with an unsatisfied feeling at the end of this novel.

lighthearted fast-paced
There was a nice, cozy aspect to this story. An island, rain, and sea creatures. It felt like there was a nod to older stories like Pride and Prejudice, because all of a sudden the rain meant you couldn’t leave.

I enjoyed their story and the moments between the romantic interests.

However, I will never, ever go for a love interest who refers to other men as “whipped” by being in romantic relationships. He also didn’t trust or connect with women because one woman cheated on him once? Dude, get over it.

And while I don’t mind her getting whisked off across to another side of the world, I felt disappointed she didn’t do what she had wanted — become a mayor. I know there were “reasons” against her returning, but it was her dream and she gave up on it.

The Bachelor in Demand Club is made up of the sons of six Morehouse men who made a pact to stay in touch by being godfather's to each other's children. The god-brothers formed their own pact to remain single for as long as they possibly could. Judging by the previous three books, the number of members in the club is dwindling.

This book is hot right out of the gate with a one night stand between Winston Coltrane and Ainsley St. James, who meet in a nightclub in Hilton Head. The chemistry is instant, but when it is over neither expects to see each other again. Ainsley hopes to rebuild her life as a journalist after an unsuccessful mayoral bid in her hometown in New Jersey. Winston needs to focus on his marine biology research and work on keeping it under wraps until he is ready to reveal it.

Ainsley receives a great opportunity to work on a story there in Hilton Head that involves getting a story on a reclusive pharmaceutical researcher named Dr. R.J. Chambers and she has three weeks to get it. In those three weeks she crosses Winston's path in more ways than one. A great story that shows the struggle surrounding prioritizing your personal and your professional lives. Brenda Jackson never lets me down.

I've read a few books from Brenda Jackson in the past and she never disappoints. I'd recommend her if you're wanting a fun, light-hearted romance. There a little heat in the bedroom scenes, but the old school way. Nothing over the top or embarrassing to admit that you're reading. Haha! This book was short and sweet, which makes these type of books perfect for summer or vacation reading. If you've read any romance novels, you know that there's a formula that works for these kind of books. If the author doesn't deviate too far from it, the story is always enjoyable. Boy meets girl. Boy sleeps with girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Girl falls for boy. Girl find out boy has a secret and turns out he's a millionaire...etc...

Bachelor Unclaimed was an easy read with a good story and pretty well developed characters, given that the book is so short. I also could believe this romantic fantasy could be real enough. What I mean by that is the story wasn't so over the top that you'd be like "What the hell?!" It's just the right amount of real with the fantasy perfect man and his perfect match.

This book is actually the fourth in a series. But never fear, you don't have to read the others to read this one. They all connect through the Bachelor featured in each book, but the books can be read as a stand-alone story too. If I get some free time, I may go back and read the others in this series.

Going on a beach vacation soon? I recommend taking this along with you.
