I need more of this pairing. I wish this stand alone had been longer. I think next to the original 3 this is my favorite by far.

My Favorite

I love this series! All of the books are fantastic. And as much as I love Shadowshine and DesertAngel I have to say that I freaking loved Lucien and Simone’s book!! And I can’t wait to read the next book..

We finally learn what happened to Simone when she went to Valdor with Lucien and why she was compelled not to talk about it.

In this book, she’s summoned back to valdor by the other masters. When she gets there, she learns she must participate in a mate selection for another master. Lucien, who has always claimed to never want a mate, must decide if he’s okay with letting another have Simone or if he’ll save her by choosing her as a mate.

It’s really difficult to write a review for this one that doesn’t spoil it all.

I like this one better than angel and Reece’s story. Maybe because there’s a bit more uncertainty between the main characters.

We get to witness Meras delivery and find out the name of the baby. And see some special events for angel too.

I absolutely loved being back in this world and especially with all the baby stuff happening, it was refreshing to follow along characters who specifically acknowledge that babies might not be for them or they don’t want babies any time soon. I think it’s definitely important to have the representation of not every wants to immediately have children but you can still support your friends who do. Though the I don’t mind a friends to lovers trope and the spicy scenes were delicious, this one didn’t fully do it for me like the past few have. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and I think I miss a lot of the banter that we find in other books. I completely 100% loved 4th wall moments of princess with animal side kicks because the creatures in this world were my favorite. The additional world building we get from this for the overall connections of the different worlds and Mera’s friends was really interesting and just general build up of the vampire world was interesting to see. Though I’m always down for spicy vampire romance, I didn’t connect with it like I wanted to. Still had a great time reading and speed through it like always. Now I just have to impatiently wait for the last book to come out.

Another great book by Jaymin Eve☺️ I felt like this book was a good breather from all of this “end of worlds” disasters from the previous books. It was nice to finally get answers to what the heck happened in Valdor.
It isn’t a 5 star for me bc it gets a little too lovey dovey at the end. Also the whole rebirth trope is growing a little predictable and it would be nice to see something different. Regardless it was fun read🖤
