i really liked adiba jaigirdars other books so i was very excited to read this and unfortunately it was a bit disappointingÂ
everything felt a bit rushed and i never really had the chance to properly connect with the characters
for me this was a fantastic premise, which could've been executed betterÂ
(still enjoyed the book, there's just something about knowing the tragic end and still hoping for a different outcome)

How can you make a book set on Titanic boring?
Maybe I had my hopes way too high for this. I did just see the movie on cinema, which was incredible, so maybe its that. But I feel like there was so much potential for this, but it never fulfilled it.
I did not care enough of the characters. I liked Violet and Hinnah, but Emilie and Josefina were just there. Their motives were lacking. Yes, Josefina had her drive of revenge, but it just wasnt interesting. And I feel like the whole thing with August was just stupid.
There are a lot of scenes which were stupid. First of all: the scene where Violet rescues the boy. They did not leave children behind if they had the chance. The command was: Woman and CHILDREN first. Not: only woman and no one else. It was just so stupid that I wanted to bash my head into a wall. Second was when they were all in the fucking lifeboat and August came running with a knife. And then 3 of them left??? And Josefina still survived with her stupid ass jewels.
By the way: those jewels were meant to give them enough money for life. For all four of them. Yet at the end if the book, it has only been a year and they spend it all?? And only two of them spend all that???
So yes. A lot of potential, but it fell because of stupid plot holes and scenes.
