There were so many times I wanted to DNF this book but kept pushing through with the mindset of “it’s going to get better”… I can assure you, it never gets better. The writing style was bad, the plot was painfully slow, the characters were annoying, and it just never got better. I wish I had just DNF’d this one.

Absolutely beautiful, thoughtful book. I cried quite a few times.

This was my favorite book of the series!  There were more mentions of the characters from the previous 2 books, so while it could be read as a stand-alone, it was so much better because I had read the first 2 books.  Loveable characters with a sweet, long-distance romance and conflicts in their professional lives surrounded by a fun, supportive cast of secondary characters.

I love JC’s stories and the way she includes characters from previous books!

The main character, Lissa, is still dealing with the trauma of witnessing the death of her ex's cousin while trying to convince the mother of said teen ( who is dealing with the trauma of losing her son) to donate his organs. She's a complete mess and I don't think she can consent to this in her state. I felt this was incredibly manipulative and definitely not Lissa's place to try and convince the mother that, it should have been other family there to help her with something traumatic like this.
I couldn't keep reading after this happened.

After finishing this series, I can wholeheartedly say that Jenny Colgan is one of my new favorite authors. I want to give everyone in this book a big hug and live in this little town.
