The graphic novels by Hubert are so tragic. I loved the setting, Characters, and plot development. It wasn't nearly as bland as Beauty, highly recommend!

So the story is about a woman who works in a brothel to uncover who murdered her sister and, oh boy, it's a doozy. Blanche is a straight-laced, taciturn young woman, the polar opposite of her sister Agnes who loves to go out and dance. When Agnes is shot in cold blood, Blache is determined to find her sister's killer. This leads her to a brothel and work as a dominatrix. Honestly, go check it out for yourself. I found it for free through my library's Hoopla app. The art here is very French, which I liked, and really evokes the time period of the 1920s/30s. The ending is a little depressing but I still recommend giving it a go but you don't have to take my word for it

This was so good but the ending was utterly disappointing. If you wanna read this and enjoy it, stop reading when you finish part 2.

Loved the artwork; the first story was good but the rest felt uneven and like it just petered out.

I love hubert writing and kerescoet art a lot as always like their other books.
Ch 1 and 2 was really engaging and gave a lot of anxiety too..
but late chapters though were dragging a bit.
I still enjoyed them but feels like the story ended abruptly for Blanche.
Kerescoet is amazing as always with characters.. so simple design and yet very distinct.
4 / 5 for me.

Like 5 stars for part 1, 3 stars for part 2. Evens out to a 4 overall. Part 2 did have some interesting parts but overall I found a bit meh other than my love for Miss Jo, who's fantastic throughout. Part 1 was fantastic, very entertaining/gripping.

This book was interesting. There were some unexpected twist which is always makes for a fun time. I liked how the coloring changed with the mood of the scene. Characters were very expressive which is always a plus. I will say I didn't walk away with a favorite character but I did enjoy reading it. At times the book was hard to put down!

This is a really dark and twisted story, but with so much comedy interjected. The entire premise, a prude who tries some Harriet-the-spy business at a brothel, only to become the brothel’s Miss Don’t-Touch-Me girl??!! Amazing. Illustrations are truly delightful. The plot is shocking, great twists and turns. There’s true character development. Highly recommend
