Es precioso.
La forma en que este libro narra la historia facilita el acompañar a este personaje en su duelo, culpa, rabia, pena, etc y hace que te enamores de los personajes muy rápidamente.

I wanted to read this book because I wanted to read more of authors work that I enjoyed previously. I liked the Death-Cast series, and I liked Adam’s collab work with Becky Albertalli. This book was in Waterstones when I last visited and decided to try this out. This book was okay, I just wanted more.

Griffen has lost his first love in a drowning accident. Theo was his best friend, his ex-boyfriend and the one he believed he would end up with. Now, reeling from grief and worsening OCD, Griffin turns to an unexpected person for help. Theo’s new boyfriend. But as their relationship becomes increasingly complicated, dangerous truths begin to surface. Griffin must make a choice: confront the past, or miss out on the future.

I liked the idea of how to move on after losing someone close to you especially like a first love, that’s what Theo was to Griffin. I liked Adam’s writing style when it comes to mental health and Griffin’s OCD and how Theo, Wade and Jackson all want to help him and will accommodate his way to help him. I loved that there was no homophobia whatsoever, no unsupportive parents and everyone seemed to care about their children in this book – which is a refreshing change compared to other LGBT books I've read where there is always one family member or one friend who is lowkey homophobic. I liked that this book was emotional and tugging on the heartstrings.

I didn’t like the jumps between History and Today, I would have liked it to be one consistent story with the start being from the beginning or at the end and starting with him moving on. I didn’t like the love triangle/square thing. I wanted it to die, and it just went on and on and on. I would have liked a happy ending, I feel like all I read from Adam is depressing books and I just want a happy gay love story from him. I would have liked this book to be a self-development of Griffin and that he didn’t need anyone to be happy, but instead he was just flopping between Jackson and Wade which didn’t feel great.

I will be reading more of Adam’s work, especially with the Death-Cast 3 being announced, but this wasn’t his best work.

History Is All You Left Me was a book I was expecting to enjoy a lot more then I did. It was a disappointing read to say the least but I did like some parts while other didn't sit to well with me. Especially toward the end.

History Is All You Left Me is about a young man named Griffin trying to deal with the loss of his first love and best friend, Theo. While he struggles with his OCD and compulsions acting up he also has to come to terms with sharing that same grief with Theo's current boyfriend Jackson. Griffin must learn to live in a world without Theo and keep his friends and family close or risk pushing them away in the process.

The parts I did like were the representation of Griffin's OCD. While it got repetitive at times it did give an honest look into someone dealing with that disorder and how they navigate their day to day life while keeping their compulsions in check. It was refreshing to see that represented in a book and in a main character. Another thing I liked was how no character was totally good or totally bad, they were all in a morally grey area and I appreciate that. Just like real life, no person is true good or true bad just grey. Also how raw and honest the process of grief is, how losing someone can turn a person into the worst of themselves or make them do things they wouldn't normally do.

The parts I didn't like or didn't feel right were how I believed we were getting a certain romance but then at the last second another romance twist was thrown into the mix. While that relationship did have it's cute moments, the way it happened felt rushed and thrown in out of nowhere just because. I wished that the romance was built up a lot sooner or we got little hints to it sooner, maybe then it would have made the romance between the two more believable. I also felt like Theo was a bit of a jerk to be honest. I mean he made his best friend and love interest wait around for him in hopes of getting back together but it never happening. Also he didn't do too much to stop the feud between his current boyfriend and ex. That wasn't good behavior in my opinion. I also felt like Jackson was underutilized and could have been used way more then he was.

Adam's writing really did shine in this book! I really loved how he wrote grief and loss, as someone who experienced loss I can say this book hit home with me on several levels!

I can say this book might not have worked for me but it may work for someone else. So if you do want to give this book a try then give it a go! If you want a book detailing grief and loss in a honest and appropriate way then History Is All You Left Me might be for you!

i would have loved it so much more if it didn’t include the love triangel trope.
i’m over teenagers who act on every sexual urge they feel

oh mY GODDD okay what a ride. tbh i really really wanted to give this 5 stars, i love this book so much but i'm picky. adam, ur 'plot twists' were so random. like there was one i was expecting, and it kind of made sense, but the next one??? like huh? there was no build up, no suggestion to even HINT it had happened and then there was suddenly a sentence explaining it had happened. very confusing fr. ANOTHER THING pls drop the blame game. griffin would not blame anyone for theo's death idec. that's not a spoiler bc y'all know he's dead from the first sentence! it's kind of realistic in terms of dealing w grief and stuff buT THERE'S LIKE A FEW MOMENTS where i'm questioning it n i'm like hmmmm. but it's really good. i meAN SAD HONESTLY but yk. it took a while to read bc i was in a reading slump for a bit but there was no issue picking up where i left off and it's easy to follow fr<3 AND THERE WAS ONE MOMENT WHEN I GASPED FR LIKE. also i hate this one bitch but we don't talk abt her. y'all will know who i mean.

Another masterpiece sad story from Adam Silvera!! I love this story so much with back and forth plot. Following the story of Griffin who walked down the memory lane, he felt sad and devestated just because his bestfriend died.

I love that he tried to find his life again in the future and moved on. Griffin and Theo were soulmate, indeed. But, for me... Wade and Griffin are destiny.

This is beyond beautiful! Thank you, Adam for a new experience in this story! I love your writing style so much!
