I finished this book a few weeks ago and am struggling to remember it at all. There is Alex a teenager working in a cafe, Quinn a terrible roommate, and Esther a roommate who has gone missing. That is about all that I can recall. I know, this is a terrible review and I hope to come back to edit it if I have a better recollection.

I wasn't sure if the title related to whatever plot showed up or if it was advice for readers trying to slog through the book.
I struggled so much with this one that I eventually gave up. There didn't seem to be a plot, or at least one that grabbed my attention in the early part that I read.
The narrative voices were both idiots and bordered on creepy. The dialogue and thoughts of both Quinn and Alex felt so immature and wooden. I was cringing at times as I read.
Definitely not for me this one.

So boring. I listened to this audiobook on a 4 hour drive and subsequently forgot I needed to finish it until I was reminded by my GR page.
I haven't really enjoyed any of Mary Kubica's books and yet I continue to read them. They're all the same - in Chicago, dual voice, nothing exciting. This one especially was incredibly slow with too many transparent attempts at getting the reader to believe something that was clearly not true.

This was a fun thriller, even if a bit long in the set-up. I love Mary Kubica’s twists so I knew one was coming, but it was such a well-done slow development that I didn’t figure it out until it was on the pages in front of me.
Moderate: Child death, Blood, Grief, and Stalking
