How have more people not read this book??????? This should be a YA contemporary classic like The Sun is Also a Star or something. It crushed my heart into tiny pieces

I enjoyed this one (the audiobook was entertaining) but it required a little more suspension of disbelief than I'm apparently capable of. They kept saying that their teacher relationships (nothing bad but just over the line) and faux pas and whatever were normal, but I kept comparing their experiences to my experiences and finding theirs to be... not normal. And kind of creepy. Also a bit law-breaking. I don't know... I just have a hard time with books like this that expect you to be on the kids' side, even when the kids' side is a bit absurd. But I did love the characters in this book and enjoyed the story. It was just a little far out there for me. Plus, the ending was rather abrupt.

I loved this book. The whole novel had this magical aura to it. Whenever I was reading the book, I felt as if I was in a bubble filled with softness and comfort. I loved how the tenses changed along with the narrators. I also loved the fluidity of this friend groups dynamics and how they could feel so intimate and close with each other without it being considered weird or unusual. The openness of Sebby's and Mira's friendship really fascinated me as well.

The way that this book tied together was spectacular. It had one of the best and most sentimental openings and endings I have ever read. When I read that last page, I felt my heart burst with grief over all the good things Sebby left behind but swell up in thoughts of all that could happen next.

A really heartfelt novel.
