“Stand with me here upon the terrace, for it may be the last quiet talk that we shall ever have.”

WHY AM I CRYING?

Minus one star simply because I cannot believe that if Holmes retired to Sussex to keep bees, Watson wasn’t right there learning the medicinal uses of honey. No way. Don’t buy it.

It was really great to read Sherlock Holmes stories I had never read before and re-live the feel of mystery and intrigue they created for me when I was younger. Holmes seems more extreme in his methods at times, more on the edge of reasonable. The mysteries were just as well thought out and solved as before and the cases 'selected' from a few other points in his career than the linear fashion the first mysteries seemed to take.
