time travel always confuses me, so i spent most of my time reading this, really confused. but after years of watching Doctor Who, i've learned to just roll with it.

I'm glad to enter the Heroic Age, and this a classic sort of story, especially with Kang the Conquerer. Romita's art is excellent (though several of the characters- Tony Stark and Thor in particular- look a bit on the young side). My only complaint is that it's BuckyCap instead of Steve Rogers (though Steve does appear for awhile in his TopCop role).

The Avengers: Volume 1 had some nice interactions between the characters but was ultimately an uninspired read.

This is some above average blockbuster story right here. It’s fun as hell and it looks pretty to go with it. The art took this up from a 3 to a 4.

After Siege and the long Dark Reign the Top cop is Steve Rogers. Just like before Secret Empire. Honestly I think it was done better before Secret Empire.

But the team is now Spider-Man, Thor, Spider-woman, Iron Man, Bucky Cap, Wolverine, and Hawkeye.

This is a pretty good lineup and the story is interesting enough. It’s time travel with Kang and the future Young Avengers.

It’s a pretty good read though I liked the lineup better in New Avengers (2004).

4 stars.

It was free in iBooks and I was just curious enough. I don't feel like I wasted my time, but I'm also not particularly urgently determined to search out the next installment.

Kang the Conqueror has traveled from the future to beg the Avengers to go to the future and stop their children from screwing up Earth. As in big time capital A-pocalypse, screw it up. The Avengers are all like, what?! Kids?! What kids?! Anyway, the timeline is all jacked up and things from the past are coming forward and destroying shit in the present timeline. So, the Avengers Assemble, a small team, and go to the future to smack the shit out of their kids while the rest of them stay back to handle timeline clean up duty. But surprise! No, I’m not saying what the surprise is. You gotta read it to see.

Anyway, I’m not a fan of time travel. It hurts my head. Also, this is the 1st Avenger graphic novel I’ve ever read, so I’m a little out of the loop on bad guys both past and present. A bit lost there. Other than that, I love the dialogue and the artwork is fantastic. I wouldn’t be averse to picking up more of this series.
