Lucky I got an advanced copy. Interesting book, sort of reminds me if "looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck" but sub greedy above the law politician instead of duck

Nothing really new for me. In a few words: Bill and Hillary get a lot of money from putting their hands, heads and friends in a lot of hot spots all over the world.

The funniest thing for me is how ridiculous geopolitics gets. Hillary allows Russia to put their hands on a nice share of UraniumOne, while at a latter date (during her latest presidential campaign) she says that Russia is the biggest geopolitical threat. Remember that Romney was ridiculed for this very assertion when he was competing for president. And now, 2022, the USA after having deliberately instigated the 2014 Ukraine coup d'état, is engaged in a proxy war against Russia, on Ukraine.

The author has his weak points too. He never goes too deep on those matters that would make it necessary to mention and criticize the other side of the US politics.
And he seems to argue that Iran having nuclear weapons is a bad thing, because of that other mid eastern tribe. I guess this is to be expected from a journalist of Breitbart news (pro zionist).

So, the Clinton's definitely full of shit, but don't think the other side is better.

>Lady Gaga sang a song. Looking over at Bill, she said “I just love you and your hot wife.” She praised the Clintons and promised the crowd, “Tonight, I thought we’d get caught up in a little Bill romance.” She then proceeded to belt out her hit “Bad Romance,” but made it Clinton specific.

What do you think... did Billy bang this aspiring witch on Epstein Island or not?

I didn't really know a huge amount about the Clinton's before reading this book, and to be honest after reading it, I still don't. To be fair to the Clinton's also, some of the chapters read a little bit like conspiracy theories. However, some of the chapters do not. This is an eye-opening book. Whether the precise insinuations here are true of not, there is clearly some very grubby back-room deals that get done and that is quite scary.

Hard to argue when a book has over 60 pages in footnotes. You can do your verifying. This book just confirms my gut feeling on a family that is so corrupt! There's a saying that goes something like.... the people you hang out with is a reflection of who you are? I took this book as a work done by a journalist who offers the reader a clear pattern of deceit and greed. Now it would be up to the right people to follow through and confirm the clear criminal activity that took place and is still most likely continues today. The sorry thing of it all they will most likely never pay for all the crime they have committed. Someday judgement will come to them!

While I came into the book wanting to buy entirely into the likely point that was being made by the author, there was quite a bit of innuendo...and the author admits it in the last chapter. The innuendo is very compelling, however; why did so much money come into the Clinton Foundation at the same time that Hillary reversed course on controversial policy decisions, both as a senator and as Secretary of State? From the outset, it was clear that President Obama wanted transparency as a stipulation for her holding the office of the top diplomat for the country, yet the Clintons kept as much veiled as possible. From a cursory glance, that surely appeared to be influence peddling. This is a short, but very well-documented book, and time will tell what will come of the allegations made.

This investigative expose is a mishmash of some really good points and some general nonsense, and it's hard to review it succinctly, since there's a lot you can say about it. For the purpose of brevity, I think the reviewer Hadrian already made most of the points I would make. I will only add that while the description of money flow and campaign financing described here is certainly not something I approve of, and is rightly called out for engendering corruption...it's 100% legal. Every politician participates in this kind of pay-to-play political pirouetting. If the book had been about that, and the need for campaign finance reform and repeal of Citizens United, he would have been able to make a much stronger point. But his primary point - that the Clintons are corrupt - is not honed to the fine point that Schweizer clearly thinks it is. Hoping he might be willing to explore the ethical depravity of pay-to-play politics, I watched some interviews with him, but he is not only entirely partisan, but intentionally deceptive. His claims that even Charity Navigator cannot rate the Clinton Foundation because of shady finances is false, as anyone can discover by simply looking up the Clinton Foundation on Charity Navigator and discovering a 4-star rating. He also clearly doesn't understand how to run a non-profit, and many of his assumptions about international politics reveal his own ethnocentrism and naivete about other cultures. One can surmise that all he is trying to do here is perpetuate false or exaggerated claims in order to curry favor with right-wingers who want a peg on which to hang their unexamined hatred of Hillary.

Now, do I like the Clintons? Nope. I have written extensively on both of them elsewhere. I think Bill is morally bankrupt and Hillary plays the system to her advantage JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER PROFESSIONAL POLITICIAN. Do I think they did anything illegal or in fact put the country in jeopardy? I really don't. And I didn't find any more evidence for that here.

In fact, the best summary of the problematic nature of the Clinton's finances can be found on Last Week Tonight, so I suggest just watching that clip (it's also hilarious so points for that): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Lfd1aB9YI

Factcheck.org also examined other claims of corruption and the uranium scandal called out by Trump here: https://www.factcheck.org/2016/10/a-false-corruption-claim/

In summary, I walked away with knowledge I already had: that the Clintons have legally leveraged the American political system and private corporate funding available to them in the same way that every other professional politician has. My disappointment was that Schweizer did not seem at all interested in investigating the entire system and calling it out, but only in feeding the Hillary hatred in order to aggrandize himself.
