I am pausing this book for now and I am not in a mental space to read the realities of this book.

Helen Knott, an indiginous woman from British Columbia unflinchingly tells her story of sexual trauma and addiction. I listened to the audio which she narrates very well. This was a tough memoir to read but it's an important one and offers hope.

Helen's writing is a powerful reclamation of culture, identity and belonging – uncovering the impacts of systemic oppression, colonialism and intergenerational trauma. I am grateful to Helen for her sacrifice in sharing her journey and finding the light and courage to empower other Indigenous women and girls to reclaim their paths.
