A selection of tales from one vet’s rural American practice. Wry tone of voice, mostly amusing stories with the occasional sad part.

As an Animal Planet/Nat Geo Wild addict, I couldn't resist this book about a veterinarian's experiences when I came across it at a thrift store. It was a nice collection of stories and I learned some things (the strong herd relationship of Highland cattle in particular). I would read his other book(s), although I don't find Dr. Wells as compelling a character as James Herriot or TV's Dr. Pol.

Diving right in...I read this book in one single evening sitting. That says something about it.
This book reminded me so much of James Harriet's books. Great short stories about some memorable events that have taken place thus far in Jeff Wells veterinary career. Well only a few of them made me chuckle out loud. I highly enjoyed the book...obviously.
Great for anyone who loves James Harriet or simply loves animal stories.

I'm sure Mr. Wells has been compared to James Herriot, but there's nothing wrong with that in my opinion. A fun and easy read.
